Description:
Advancing Bangladesh’s Future by Integrating Life-Performance and Skills-Based Models of Learning
The evolution of Outcome Based thinking, designs, and implementation has been significant since OBE first appeared as a viable educational reform model in the 1970s. That evolution offers new implementers the advantage of advancing their policies, planning, and programs far beyond the very basic subject matter approach that characterized early models. Exploring and explaining the genuinely performance-based alternatives now available to Bangladesh’s educators and policy makers is the focus of this webinar.
OBE leaders and experts from the International Network for Outcome Based Education (IN4OBE) will discuss the potentials and promises of these newer performance-based models with leading decision makers and implementers in the Bangladesh education system. Their goal is to show how developing learners for life-performance roles and identities originally derived from Benjamin Bloom’s Taxonomy will: 1) deepen the learning of both technical and social competence essential in the modern world; 2) advance a more rapid and long-lasting development for the country’s technological, economic, political, and educational sectors than more basic skill-based approaches do; and 3) uplift the entire educational system ‘from the inside out’ as these fully developed 3D approaches do for both faculty and students.
Academics, accreditation specialists, and officials at all levels of government and education are invited to attend.
