Authentic Alternatives Framework

This framework of alternative approaches to educational “reform” has been excerpted, with permission, from Learning Communities 2.0: Educating in the Age of Empowerment  (2010) by Dr. William Spady and Dr. Charles Schwahn.

1. are grounded in 21st Century understandings of learners, learning, human capacities, instructional models, learning environments, and human performance – and
