Prof. Ma. Cecilia Detosil-Alimen, Ph.D., is a Full Professor at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City, Philippines. She got her Master of Arts in Education, major in English, and Master of Education in Special Education from West Visayas State University and her Doctor of Philosophy in English Studies: Language from the College of Arts and Letters, University of the Philippines-Diliman Quezon City. Since Outcomes-Based Education was mandated, Prof. Alimen has been giving lectures about it inside and outside the university.She teaches English Language and Literature, Research, Special Education, and Art Appreciation at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has presented research papers at various local and international conferences across Asia and the United States of America. In her entire teaching career, she has been a recipient of awards. Recently, she got the Most Influential Teacher award from the United States of America’s United Filipino-American Educators (UNIFFIED).As part of her professional advocacy, Dr. Alimen serves as a resource speaker, research mentor, and trainer in teacher development programs at her university. As former chair of the Languages and Humanities department, she has extensively promoted Outcomes-Based Education awareness, implementation, and assessment. Currently, she serves as team leader of the Internal Quality Audit and reviewer of the University Research Ethics Review Committee. She also serves as one of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) evaluators, looking into the compliance of degree programs to the Commission of Higher Education’s (CHED) minimum requirements among private and public higher education institutions in the Philippines.
