Jyotiprava Mohanta was in May 1985. She received a BTech degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in 2007 from Biju Patnaik University for Technology. She completed her MTech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering in 2013 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

She was working as an Assistant Professor in Seemanta Engineering College, Biju Patnaik University for Technology for fourteen years. She is currently a research scholar at Advanced Technology and Developed Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Her research area is Outcome-based Education.
