Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Hamdard University, Karachi since 2015. During his service at Hamdard University, he has served at various administrative positions including Program Coordinator Electrical Engineering (Feb 2020 to Nov 2021), Program Coordinator Electronics Engineering (Sept 2019 to Feb 2020), Advisor to FEST Outcome Based Education (OBE) Coordinator (Oct 2019 – July 2021), FEST Outcome Based Education (OBE) Coordinator (Aug 2015 – Sept 2019) and Manager Industrial Relations Department (Nov 2021 to date). With an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from NED UET, he has industrial experience of both public and private sectors. As researcher, he is the recipient of research funding from IEEE, HEC,
Ignite (formerly named as National ICT R & D Fund) Pakistan, Hamdard University, GIK Institute etc. His research interests include smart grid, electric vehicles, water informatics, designing of new devices, metamaterials and Internet of Things (IoT). He is Fellow of Pakistan Academy of Engineering (PAE) and member of program evaluation panel of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). He also holds the offices of IEEE Karachi Section Chapter / Subsection Coordinator and Chair Student Activities Committee (SAC), IEEE Karachi Section. He is the recipient of IEP National Excellence Award 2015 from The Institution of Engineers (IEP) Pakistan and SATHA Innovation Award 2017 from South Asian Triple Helix Association (SATHA). He also received Excellent Performance Certificates throughout his service (2011 to 2015) at Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology Pakistan. He was Best University Teacher of Hamdard University for the year 2019-20.
