Born in Selangor, Malaysia, Dr Ezran Zainal has graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design. He received his master-level degree in Art and Design, majoring in Design Technology, from Universiti Teknologi MARA. Then received his doctoral degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia in Industrial Design Studies.

Dr Ezran Zainal is currently the Head of Department for the Design and Creative Technology Department, Faculty of Creative Technology and Heritage, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and at the same time persuading his design passion through Ezran Studio and ISM Studio PLT. He has been actively involved with various design and trade furniture exhibitions and international research symposiums. His passion for developing the Ergo-aesthetic principles has revolutionized & simplified the judgement of human behavioural effect on the design process and the final output of an item. He believed that an absolute beauty of an item lies within the simplification of a human behavioural system towards an intended form.
