Dr. C.R. RENE ROBIN, received his M.E.(CSE) and Ph.D (CSE) degrees from CEG, Anna University, India in 2006 and 2011, respectively. He is currently working as Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Dean(Innovation) at Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai-44 from Dec. 2020. He has worked at Jerusalem College of Engineering, Chennai-100, since July 2006. During his stay at Jerusalem, he held various positions as Head of the department – CSE, Joint Director for Approval, Affiliation & Accreditation (AAA) and Associate Dean. His other responsibilities at Jerusalem are Project Head for the Skill Development Project funded by DDUGKY (Govt. of India) & TNSRLM (Govt. of Tamil Nadu) and Nodal Officer for the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), a scheme of UGC. He also worked as a programmer at the Ramanujan Computing Centre, Anna University, Chennai-25 from Dec. 2000 to Jan. 2006.
His areas of interest include Ontological Engineering, Knowledge Management, E-Learning, Semantic Web etc. He is a recognized supervisor of Anna University to guide Ph.D and M.S (by research) in the area of Computer Science and Engineering. Nine Students have successfully completed their Ph.D programme and currently 05 research scholars are doing their research under him. He is a doctoral committee member of Anna University, Sathyabama University, Vels University and VIT University, Chennai. He is a life time member of ISTE and member of several professional bodies and ACM recognized him as ambassador
He wrote two books and one book chapter. He has 75 publications in National and International Journals and conferences.
He received “Mentor Award” from IBM for The Great Mind Challenge 2011. He got the Young IT Professional Award 2012 (Special Mention) by Computer Society of India at the Regional level. He received Award for Teaching Excellence at Indo-Global Education Summit 2013. He is acting as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Plastic Free Tamil Nadu Project and the Co-ordinator for Chennai District to create awareness to avoid plastics . During this lock down period, he has trained more than 3500 teachers on “Digital Tools for effective teaching learning process” and served as resource person for 40 webinars on various topics.
