Dr Suparna Majumdar Kar is an Associate Professor with the Department of Sociology and Social Work and a founding member of the Teaching Learning Enhancement Cell (TLEC) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore, India.
As part of TLEC, she has worked extensively on training and capacity building initiatives for faculty in higher education. As a researcher, she has worked on projects like Capacity Building Initiatives for a Constructively Aligned Curriculum and Using digital tools in higher education. She is currently working on a project on Whole Person Development in Higher Education using Outcome Based Education.
Her MPhil thesis was on Planning the family in India and her doctoral work was titled “Migration to Bengaluru: A study of return migration of IT Professionals”. She was awarded a fellowship for the Higher Education Teaching Certificate offered by the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, Harvard University. Her work has focused on studies on the study of Indian society, migration studies, and teaching, learning, and assessment practices in higher education.
