Dr. Mohammad S. Alkathiri, Associate Professor of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Dean of Academic Development at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Alkathiri has diverse contributions and experiences in the fields of higher education, particularly in relation to faculty development with the aim of improving teaching and learning practices, and ultimately enhancing students’ learning.  Dr. Alkathiri is chairperson of the academic development council, founder and chairperson of SAMQ (expertise house of academic development in higher education), member of the standing committee for university academic plans and programs, and participates in several councils, initiatives, associations and committees related to developing university education.  Dr. Alkathiri has published scientific papers investigating higher education issues and has participated in many conferences and specialized courses in the fields of academic quality, assessment and evaluation, and instructional design to enhance learning experiences in higher education. Dr. Alkathiri has led many talents development programs, in addition to judging international awards for innovation in education. Dr. Alkathiri provided consultancy and training programs to various entities within Saudi Arabia and abroad.
